The online portion of CEVO Season 8's Professional divisions has come to an end, with all eight finalists having been determined.
Over the last two months, 12 teams from Europe and North America faced each other for the chance to attend the season finals, which will take place at the MLG.tv arena, in Columbus, Ohio from November 6-8.
The European division was topped by Titan, who impressed everyone by winning nine out of 11 matches. The French side were followed by dignitas, who finished second on a 7-3-1 record.
There was a two-way tie for third place between G2 and HellRaisers as the teams amassed 14 points. Since the match between these sides ended in a 1-1 stalemate, CEVO looked at the head-to-head round record, which sees the Ukrainian side advance to the offline finals.
Team Liquid topped the North American division
Last night, Mikail "Maikelele" Bill took to Twitter to state that Overtime rounds were not being considered by CEVO to determine the head-to-head record, but that is not the case. Even with OT rounds considered, G2 still have a worse record (-1 against HR's +1 if rounds are considered, -4 against HR's +4 if they are not considered).
In North America, things were more straightforward: Team Liquid finished at the top of the table on 20 points, followed by Luminosity Gaming (17) and Conquest (16).
These six teams will be joined by Virtus.pro and Natus Vincere, the top two teams from Season 7, at the event, which means that the list of participants comprises:
